← Back to all 3d printersThe Kobra 3 is Anycubic’s value answer to multi-colour FDM. As a standalone it is a fast, medium-sized printer; with the ACE Pro it unlocks four-colour prints (eight with a second unit) and actively dries filament while printing. It is a strong pick for makers who want colour and speed on a budget, with a few rough edges typical of the price.
Our score: 4.3 / 5
The Anycubic Kobra 3 is a medium-sized FDM printer with a 250×250×260mm build volume — close to a Bambu A1 in footprint and larger than a classic Ender 3. It is fast on its own, rated up to 600 mm/s, with auto-levelling and vibration-compensation to hold quality at speed.
Its headline feature is the optional ACE Pro (Anycubic Color Engine Pro), a four-spool multi-material system that bolts on for colour printing. Two ACE Pro units can run together for eight colours, and unlike many rivals it actively dries filament while printing and includes nozzle-clog detection to protect long jobs.
Look elsewhere if: you need a fully enclosed chamber for ABS/ASA, want the most polished closed ecosystem, or only print single-colour and would rather not pay for the colour system.
As a single-colour printer the Kobra 3 is quick and capable, and the auto-levelling makes setup straightforward. The real story is the ACE Pro: drop in up to four spools and the system handles colour changes for you, with active drying that genuinely helps in damp Indian conditions where moisture-laden filament causes stringing and weak layers.
The trade-offs are the ones common to multi-colour FDM — each colour change purges some filament, and the open frame means ABS and ASA are better suited to an enclosed machine. For PLA and PETG colour work, though, it is a lot of capability for the money.
If multi-colour is on your wishlist but a premium machine is out of budget, the Kobra 3 with ACE Pro is one of the most affordable ways to get there — with the bonus of active drying that suits the Indian climate.
